Like all inventors, I’m endlessly curious. I have become an expert in a few areas but remain forever an enthusiastic amateur in many others.

The funny thing is, in the areas of my expertise (the things I actually get paid for), I have no formal training.

I learn by experiment (getting stuck in), and I learn from the experiments of others (the things they tried)

Experience has taught me:

If you’re curious enough, you can get there.
You may need help, but you can get there.

If you’re into Robotics or Video, Home Automation or Podcasting…

If you’re finally writing your Game, Killer App, or Novella…

If you are a budding Scientist, Technologist, or Artist…

You don’t need motivation if curiosity drags you forward like it did the famous cat!

Even a lack of skill cannot stop you – it can only slow you down for a while.

You know the creative spark is in you. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says or thinks. In some ways, it doesn’t even matter what you think. If it’s in there, it’s in there, and you can’t suppress it, which means you have the potential to be unstoppable.

Who knows?

You might even change the world.

This blog is a place to record my experiences and learnings about all things ‘inventing’ – software, coding and creative writing, for sure – but also about how to cope with constantly having idea after idea after idea.
